Frequently Asked Questions
What do I need to get started?
We’ll collect really basic details about your startup, akin to filling out an AngelList profile. We’ll also collect 2-3 questions about the story of your startup, the problem you are trying to solve, and your mission. In total, you can expect to spend 3-5 minutes filling out the campaign details. We then use that information to cover all the questions that each outlet asks during submissions.
How long does it take?
On average, we complete all submissions within 1-4 business days. Once we’ve finished submitting your campaign, it will take some time for each of the sites to review and moderate submissions. Some directories review/approve right away, while others can take a few weeks.
What about some of the websites that require accounts
Some of the outlets we submit to do require accounts to be created for the startup. For the ones that do, we provide you with the account details once all submissions have been completed.
Do you guarantee submissions will be accepted?
While we curate the list to include directories and websites that you’ll actually have a chance of getting accepted, we are unable to guarantee the success of your startup on each directory.
How long does it take for each website or directory to approve your submission
The review/moderation cycle varies widely between each outlet, but on average we see a moderation cycle anywhere from a few days to 2-3 months (some directories have premium upgrades, and we have an add-on that allows you to purchase that premium upgrade).
What if my startup is already on some of the websites? Or, if I don’t want to be submitted to a certain site?
That’s ok. When you start your campaign, you can specify directories you’d like for us to omit.

“Startuplister helped us get featured and start press conversations in a few minutes rather than the days it would have taken otherwise.”
